10 STEPS TO TEACHING YOUR CHILD
Like a former first grade teacher, teaching children to learn is one of my greatest passions! But since most children dont start actually until around 6 years old (that’s upwards of the targeted age group in my blog), I didn t want parents to feel pressured the 3-year-old must start reading (which, incidentally, they don. However, the information shared here is general information that’s therapeutic for children of all ages, whether your youngster is ready to read or not. Dont implement many of these strategies at the same time, nor when you expect your son or daughter so that you can fit everything in without delay. It is a process and this information is simply for you to implement when you feel your son or daughter is prepared.

1. Read for your child
Teaching your son or daughter to read is an activity that begins at infancy. (No, I am usually not advocating programs which claim to teach your baby to read using flashcards!)
